What I love most about interior design is that you can make it your very own. You can follow a specific style and add your own twist to it, or you can just create your own style, or just fill up your home with stuff that you love. It's so creative and fun!
For me it has always been white! Even as a child when I was living at my parents house I wanted all the furniture in white (we had no white furniture at all in the house I grew up in). And I've been on that path forever since then. But my style has varied. When I moved out of my parents home my one room apartment turned all pink (everything else but the furniture), it was a crazy princess kind of phase, since I didn't have that as a child. After I met my love Ben and we moved in together we went through a bit of a turquoise phase. Later on the interior style took a little bit more of a romantic shabby chic turn with a lot of pastels. After that I fell in love with the super worn down style French Brocante. After all the years of stuff piling up, I all of a sudden decided to go minimalistic and turned to the Scandinavian decor. And this is the style we have right now. As you notice my style really varies a lot from time to time. And I've of course always loved the current style for the moment the most.
So on this blog you will get a lot of Scandinavian decor with my own little twist on it. Some of the furniture we have from before has a more romantic feel, but since I love them so much, I couldn't get rid of them.
Right now I love black, white, gray, silver and a bit of pale pink or mauve. Velvet is one of my favorite fabrics, I love filling my house with plants, candles, prints and of course flowers!
Here are some pictures from our home as it is today. And for next week I will post some really embarrassing pictures from my previous styles..
